At 24, Cyril Zimmermann files the articles of incorporation for a company without having an idea. Just to force himself to move.
At 27, his shares are worth 15 million euros. He doesn’t cash them in because he’s too young to know the value of money and what to do with this sudden wealth without betraying himself.
The internet bubble bursts, his company goes from 200 to 50 employees. It will later bounce back and grow to as many as 500 employees.
Twenty years later, he co-founds La Plateforme in Marseille, a digital school open to everyone regardless of age or diploma.
He ultimately came around to serving the public interest, but by a path he hadn’t planned.
