In this essential episode, we dive into the heart of coaching through the Life Project, a structured method we offer to business leaders, but also to anyone seeking clarity and personal realignment.
Why Is the Life Project Urgent?
In an era that keeps accelerating, it is imperative to map out long-term perspectives. If, in the 1980s, a career plan was enough to give an individual structure, today, younger people can no longer talk about it without connecting it to a true life project. Reducing the individual to their professional sphere alone is no longer relevant.
The Life Project is defined as a form of personal ecology. For a leader, being well aligned and coherent with their personal vision generates something powerful within their company. A company vision that is not embodied and carried by leadership is not followed by the collective. This process allows the individual to situate themselves over the long term and to position themselves in the driver’s seat of their life.
The Protocol: Discovering Your “Nugget”
The coaching process is built around a precise, tested protocol aimed at (re)surfacing what truly constitutes us. We explore four fundamental steps:
- Fundamentals: These are the person’s foundations, often rooted in their history, which it is essential to revisit and prioritize (ideally three main ones), without the moral judgment sometimes associated with values.
- Strategic Distinctive Skills: This is what sets the individual apart, their “black box” that makes the difference, their added value — what we like to call the “nugget.” This is where the person will be “brilliant” when called upon.
- Goals: Defined and prioritized in the short, medium or long term (3, 5, or 10 years) to offer a concrete perspective.
- Purpose: The individual’s unique functionality, their “baseline” or signature. It’s about answering the question: “What am I here for in this world?”
The process also includes a crucial phase of Putting Into Action and concrete follow-up. Recognizing that daily life and psychological barriers (like self-sabotage or a positive intention not to change) can hinder the process, we take on the role of coach-trainer to ritualize milestones and celebrate small victories.
Our Unique Coaching Approach
Our approach is unique: we work as a duo (two perspectives, two sensibilities, two backgrounds) during long sessions (up to 2h30 or 3 hours). This two-person exchange allows us to fully integrate listening and vary our questioning.
Moreover, we use technology in an innovative way. Full audio recording of the sessions allows the person to reconnect with their deep (sometimes unconscious) words. We also rely on Artificial Intelligence for the summary, which frees us from the burden of note-taking and allows us to be fully present with the individual. We then add our own perception and our human added value to the report generated by the AI.
The Benefits: Peace of Mind and Determination
The main benefit felt by those we support is peace of mind and comfort. Taking a pause allows you to breathe, to regain strength, a “mood boost.” Even in moments of great confusion or risk of burnout, stopping to review one’s priorities is beneficial.
Before starting the protocol, we always offer a preliminary interview to make sure the coaching matches the person’s needs and to guarantee everyone’s freedom.
If you are at a questioning point in your life or career, this might be the moment to give yourself this gift of clarity. Listen to this episode to discover how to regain coherence and help yourself succeed.
